The ultimate Tokyo sports weekend
Tokyo is one of the few cities in the world where you can watch three different professional sports in a single weekend. Here's how to fit baseball, soccer, and basketball into an action-packed two days.
Saturday morning: Basketball
Start with a B.League matinee at 2:00 PM. Alvark Tokyo, Sunrockers Shibuya, or Chiba Jets (just outside Tokyo) all offer exciting basketball. Arrive by 1:00 PM to soak in the pre-game atmosphere. Games end around 4:00 PM, giving you time for the evening game.
Saturday evening: Baseball
Head to Tokyo Dome for a Giants night game (first pitch usually 6:00 PM) or Jingu Stadium for a Swallows game. Buy your ticket in advance. Grab a Dome Dog or Jingu craft beer and enjoy Japan's most popular sport under the lights. Games end around 9:00-9:30 PM.
Sunday afternoon: Soccer
Catch an FC Tokyo or Tokyo Verdy match at Ajinomoto Stadium (usually 2:00 or 3:00 PM kickoff), or take a short train ride to see Kawasaki Frontale at Todoroki Stadium. J-League weekend games offer incredible atmosphere with organized cheering sections.
Transport tips
All venues are accessible by train. Get a Suica or Pasmo IC card for seamless travel. Tokyo Dome is at Suidobashi Station, Jingu at Gaienmae, Ajinomoto at Tobitakyu, and Todoroki at Musashi-Kosugi. Budget about 30-45 minutes between venues.
