Not a stadium. A destination.
ES CON Field HOKKAIDO opened in 2023 as the home of the Nippon-Ham Fighters. But calling it a baseball stadium is like calling Disneyland a theme park β technically correct but missing the point. It's a food hall, brewery, hot spring resort, and adventure park that happens to contain a baseball field.
The food (30+ restaurants)
Jingisukan: grilled lamb on a dome-shaped grill β Hokkaido's signature dish. Seafood donburi: rice bowls topped with salmon, ikura (salmon roe), uni (sea urchin), and crab. Sapporo miso ramen: the original, thick and rich. Soup curry: another Sapporo specialty. Craft beer from the on-site F VILLAGE BREWERY. Crepes, burgers, sushi, udon β the variety covers every craving.
The brewery
F VILLAGE BREWERY brews beer inside the stadium complex. You can watch the brewing process through glass walls, then drink the result. IPA, pale ale, pilsner, and seasonal specials. Fresh-brewed beer at a baseball game is a combination that shouldn't be legal.
The hot spring
Tower 11, a hotel building behind center field, has an observation hot spring with views of the baseball field. Day-use bathing costs Β₯2,000-3,000. You can't read the scoreboard from the bath, but you can see the field and the lights. Check scores on your phone while soaking.
The field
Natural grass under a retractable roof β one of very few in the world. The walls open to let in Hokkaido's fresh air. The combination of indoor comfort and outdoor atmosphere is unique.
