30,000 seats, no running track
EDION Peace Wing Hiroshima opened in February 2024 with a capacity of approximately 30,000. Football-specific design means steep, close stands with no wasted space. The front row of the goal end is about 7 meters from the pitch. Every seat has a clear, unobstructed view.
Facilities
Roof coverage: about 85% of seats are covered, so rain is rarely an issue. Concourse: wide, with food and drink vendors serving Hiroshima specialties (okonomiyaki, oysters, momiji manju). Accessibility: modern design with full wheelchair access. Big screen replays and stadium PA are clear throughout.
Location
Central Hiroshima — 5 minutes by tram from the Atomic Bomb Dome. JR Hiroshima Station is a 15-minute walk or 5-minute tram ride. The previous stadium (Big Arch) was in the suburbs with poor transport. This move to the city center changed everything for Sanfrecce attendance.
Why it matters for tourists
You can visit Peace Memorial Park in the morning, eat Hiroshima okonomiyaki for lunch, watch Sanfrecce in the afternoon, and catch a bullet train home in the evening. No taxi needed. No long commute. The stadium's location makes it the easiest J-League venue to add to a Hiroshima itinerary.
