Belluna Dome (Former MetLife Dome): How to Enjoy Seibu Lions Baseball

πŸ“– 2 min readπŸ“Belluna Dome

From MetLife Dome to Belluna Dome

If you're searching for MetLife Dome, the name changed to Belluna Dome in 2022 (naming rights). Same stadium, same team (Seibu Lions), same location in the green hills of Tokorozawa, Saitama. The unique open-air dome design β€” a roof overhead but open walls on the sides β€” makes it unlike any other stadium in Japan.

Why visit

Cheapest tickets in NPB

Outfield unreserved: from Β₯1,000 ($7). You will not find professional sports this cheap anywhere else in the developed world. Infield reserved starts at Β₯3,000 ($20).

Nature setting

Forest surrounds the stadium. The walk from the station through trees to the dome feels like a nature hike that ends at a baseball game. Spring cherry blossoms along the approach road are beautiful.

Wind and weather

The open walls let in natural breezes β€” refreshing in summer, cold in spring and autumn. It rains inside the stadium sometimes (yes, really β€” the walls are open). Bring layers for anything outside June-August.

Getting there

Seibu Yamaguchi Line to Seibu-Kyujo-mae Station. The station is right at the stadium entrance. About 50 minutes from Ikebukuro. The journey goes from Tokyo urban density to suburban greenery β€” a pleasant transition.

How to buy tickets

The Lions are a Klook partner team. English-language purchasing with international cards available. Official Lions site also sells tickets (Japanese).
