The charm of Jingu Stadium
Jingu Stadium is one of Tokyo's hidden gems — an outdoor baseball stadium in the heart of Shibuya, surrounded by trees and the Meiji Jingu gaien area. Watching a night game here under the Tokyo sky with a cold beer is pure magic.
The Swallows
The Yakult Swallows won back-to-back championships in 2021-2022, led by Munetaka Murakami's incredible Triple Crown season. The team's mascot, Tsubakurou, is one of NPB's most beloved characters.
Getting there
Gaienmae Station (Ginza Line) is a 5-minute walk. From Shibuya, it's just one stop. The stadium is also walkable from Aoyama, Omotesando, and Sendagaya — all stylish Tokyo neighborhoods.
The umbrella tradition
When the Swallows win, fans celebrate by singing the Tokyo Ondo and waving small umbrellas in unison. Bring a cheap vinyl umbrella (100-yen shop ones work perfectly) and join the celebration if they win.
