The dynasty
The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks are NPB's most successful modern franchise, with multiple Japan Series titles in the 2010s and 2020s. Backed by the SoftBank Group, they combine financial muscle with elite player development. Watching the Hawks is watching baseball excellence.
PayPay Dome Fukuoka
One of Japan's most impressive dome stadiums, featuring a retractable roof, 360-degree concourse, and premium facilities throughout. The adjacent BOSS E-ZO FUKUOKA entertainment complex adds VR experiences, an observation deck, and more dining options.
Getting there
Tojinmachi Station (Fukuoka subway) is about 15 minutes' walk. From Hakata Station, take a bus (about 30 minutes). Fukuoka's famously convenient airport is just 5 minutes from the city center by subway.
Tickets
Available through the Hawks official app or website. Fan club members (Taka Points) get priority access. Premium seating options like Super Boxes are great for groups. Regular outfield seats start from about ¥2,000.
Hakata food experience
Inside the dome: Hakata ramen, mentaiko rice balls, motsu nabe, and yakitori. After the game: take a taxi to the Nakasu yatai (street food stalls) for late-night ramen, tempura, and gyoza at tiny riverside counters. This is peak Fukuoka.
