Asia's most passionate supporters
The Urawa Red Diamonds — universally known as Urawa Reds — have the most passionate supporter culture in Asian football. Their home, Saitama Stadium 2002, is Japan's largest football-specific venue at 63,700 seats, and when it's full for a big match, the atmosphere is genuinely world-class.
The Urawa experience
The north end
The north goal end is Urawa's famous supporter section. Thousands of fans in red creating coordinated chants, massive banners (tifo), and an unbroken wall of sound for 90 minutes. It's often compared to the great European supporter sections — Dortmund's Yellow Wall, Liverpool's Kop.
ACL pedigree
Urawa have won the AFC Champions League multiple times, making them one of Asia's most successful clubs in continental competition. ACL nights at Saitama Stadium are legendary.
Getting there
Saitama Rapid Railway to Urawa-Misono Station — 15-minute walk. From Tokyo Station, about 50 minutes total. Match-day shuttle buses also run from the station.
