Baseball in Japan's kitchen
Kyocera Dome Osaka is home to the Orix Buffaloes and sits in Osaka's Nishi ward, just 10 minutes from Namba by subway. Osaka is Japan's undisputed food capital, and combining a baseball game with Osaka's legendary cuisine creates an unforgettable day.
The Buffaloes experience
The Orix Buffaloes won back-to-back pennants in the early 2020s and their fanbase has grown significantly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming โ less intense than Tigers or Giants games, making it ideal for first-time visitors to Japanese baseball.
Inside the dome
36,000 seats in a fully enclosed dome. Takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and other Osaka specialties are available at stadium food stands. The 'Ori-hime Set' (a women-targeted light meal set) is a popular option. Beer vendors patrol the stands as usual.
Getting there
Dome-mae Chiyozaki Station (Nagahori Tsurumiryokuchi Line) is right next to the stadium. From Namba: 10 minutes. From Umeda: 15 minutes. From Tennoji: 20 minutes.
Post-game in Osaka
After a 9:15 PM game ending, you have plenty of time to enjoy Osaka's nightlife. Dotonbori (15 min by subway): Glico Man sign, takoyaki at Wanaka or Kukuru. Shinsekai (20 min): Kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) and retro atmosphere. Ura-Namba: Hip bars and izakaya.
