Tokyo's best outdoor baseball
Jingu Stadium is an open-air ballpark in the heart of Shibuya, home to the Yakult Swallows. While Tokyo Dome gets more attention, Jingu offers something the dome can't โ fresh air, city skyline views, and a more intimate atmosphere. Summer night games here are pure magic.
The beer scene
Jingu has the best beer selection in NPB. Beyond the standard draft beer vendors walking the stands, there are dedicated craft beer stands offering IPAs, wheat beers, and seasonal selections. The combination of cold craft beer and warm summer air is perfection.
The umbrella celebration
When the Swallows win, every fan pulls out a small vinyl umbrella and waves it while singing the Tokyo Ondo song. It's one of the most joyful victory celebrations in all of sports. Buy a cheap umbrella at a 100-yen shop before the game โ just in case.
Fireworks nights
Selected summer games feature post-game fireworks displays. Baseball and fireworks in the heart of Tokyo โ it doesn't get more Japanese than that. Check the team website for scheduled fireworks nights.
