Getting there
Bus from JR Utsunomiya Station (about 15 minutes). From Tokyo, take the shinkansen to Utsunomiya (50 minutes) or the JR Utsunomiya Line (about 2 hours for a budget option).

Utsunomiya is Japan's gyoza capital. The area around the station has dozens of gyoza restaurants. Minmin, Masashi, and Utsunomiya Gyozakan are the most famous. Try pan-fried, steamed, and deep-fried varieties — they're all different and all delicious.
