World Cup history under your feet

On June 30, 2002, Ronaldo scored twice as Brazil beat Germany 2-0 in this stadium to win the World Cup. You can stand in the same venue where that happened. The stadium hasn't changed much since then — 72,327 seats of concrete and football history.

Yokohama F. Marinos

The Marinos play high-pressing, attacking football that's earned them multiple J-League titles. Their City Football Group connection (same ownership as Manchester City) brings international scouting and modern tactics. Matches are entertaining for neutral fans.

Getting there

JR Shin-Yokohama Station: 15-minute walk. JR Kozukue Station: 7-minute walk. Shin-Yokohama is a Shinkansen stop — you can come from Nagoya (80 minutes), Osaka (2.5 hours), or Hiroshima (3.5 hours) and walk to the stadium.

Seats and prices

The stadium is enormous, so most J-League matches don't fill it. This means tickets are easy to get. Main stand: ¥4,500-6,000 ($30-40). Back stand: ¥3,000-4,500 ($20-30). Goal end: ¥2,000-3,000 ($13-20). For regular matches, you can often buy on the day.

Pre-game: Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum

5-minute walk from the station. A basement recreating a 1958 Tokyo street with ramen shops from across Japan. Each shop serves a different regional style. Eat two half-portions from different shops and you've had the best pre-game meal in J-League.

How to buy tickets

Marinos official site or J-League ticket platform. The large capacity means most matches are available even on short notice.
